I'm Hester — a travel photographer and the founder of Sunside Stories, a collection of authentic travel prints captured around the world.

Four years ago, I packed my camera and began to explore the world. What started in Europe soon expanded further away from home, as I chased the feeling of being somewhere new. At first, I did what many travelers do - I photographed the landmarks, the hotspots, the places everyone already knows. But something was missing, it wasn’t the kind of travel photography I wanted to create.

It wasn’t the beauty I was after — it was the truth of a place. The quiet, ordinary and human moments. The streets where people live, the light just before dusk, the little signs that show what life looks like on the other side of the world. That’s when something shifted.

I stopped chasing the picture-perfect and started searching for what it feels like to be somewhere. My camera became a tool for storytelling. For sharing the soul of a place. 

Not just how it looks, but how it breathes.
